Introduction
This is a one-time procedure that cannot be changed once the shoe has been attached. Read through the whole guide before attaching your telrad shoe.
-
-
Unscrew the two screws on the telrad shoe. Don't not remove the screw, just loosen it enough for the next step.
-
-
-
Lift the telrad away from the telrad shoe.
-
-
-
Before attaching the telrad shoe permanently, practice positioning it on the telescope tube.
-
The front end of the shoe should be set back from lip of the telescope by roughly an inch.
-
There are two bolts on the front end of the telescope. The telrad shoe should be roughly centered between these bolts and be parallel to the main telescope tube.
-
-
-
Turn to the base of the telrad shoe.
-
Notice that there two strips of double sided tape.
-
-
-
Peel the green and white backing off each strip of tape.
-
-
-
You are now ready to permanently attach the telrad shoe to the telescope. Once attached, the telrad shoe cannot be removed.
-
Place the telrad shoe on the telescope, making sure that it is aligned with the tube as shown in Step 3.
-
Press down firmly on the telrad shoe so that the double stick tape adheres to the telescope tube.
