Introduction
This guide will show you how to replace the batteries in the telrad. The telrad requires two double AA batteries. It is a good idea to have a few handy on all your observing runs, just in case your batteries die.

Remove the telrad from the telescope.

Gently pull the top cover of the telrad straight off, exposing the battery compartment.

Pull the grey foam pieces out of the battery compartment.

Gently lift the battery holder up.

The battery holder is still attached by two small wires, do not yank it out or you may damage the wires.

Insert the batteries into the battery holder. Use the diagram to align the negative end of the battery to the spring as you insert the batteries.

Gently place the battery holder back into the battery compartment.

Arrange the holder so that the batteries face the side wall of the compartment.

Slide the foam back into the compartment, right next to the battery holder.

Slide the battery compartment cover back onto the telrad.
