How to Mount the Tripod Tray

Lay the tripod down on its side.

Unbuckle the tripod strap at the base of the tripod. Rest the strap out of the way.

Stand the tripod upright.

Slowly pull the tripod legs apart.

Press down on the center of the extension arms to fully separate the tripod legs.

The tripod legs are fully extended when the center of the extension arms is in its lowest position.

Unscrew the cap at the base of long bolt extending down from the center of the tripod.

Remove the cap.

Be sure to catch the large black washer that was resting on the cap.

Slide the large black washer up the bolt in the center of the tripod.

While holding the washer, insert the tray on the center bolt of the tripod.

Lift both the tray and the wash above the threading on the center bolt of the tripod.

Turn the tripod tray so that the grooves in each of the three points align with the legs of the tripod.

While holding the tray, screw the cap back onto the base of the center bolt of the tripod.

Make sure that the cap is tight to secure the legs.

Do not over tighten as this ay strip the cap. Finger tight plus a quarter turn should be sufficient to secure the tripod.

Double check that the tripod tray is aligned so that each leg lays flush with the groove in the tray.

To store the tripod, you do not need to remove the tray. Instead use the following procedure.

Loosen the cap on the center bolt of the tripod.

Do not actually remove the cap, just loosen it so that the tripod tray lowers enough to be rotated.

Rotate the tripod tray so that each leg aligns with one of the large cutouts between the three points of the tray.

Carefully collapse the tripod by pulling up on the center of the alignment arms.

Once the tripod is completely collapsed, buckle the strap at the base of the tripod.

You may need to tighten the strap using the adjustment.
